"Gonna watch the world get washed away, and on a bed of stars I'll lay"
My first car was a 2004 Mustang convertible. I honestly thought my dad was crazy for allowing me to get it as my first car. He couldn't really afford it, and I didn't even particularly care to have a "cool" car, considering I've never really cared much about cars in the first place.
All that mattered to me after getting the car though, was that I could drive fast at night, with the top down, blasting music. It was one of the only things I could do that really felt to me like some sort of escape, and the night time always seemed to provide me with a comfort that I couldn't find during the day.
lyrics
Lights and colors blur as I forget my past
All I hear is the whir of the engine as I crash
Into the night
Find myself a better life
As I become one with the night, dissolve into the air
All the petty problems of this world were just too much to bear
Gonna watch the world get washed away
And on a bed of stars I'll lay
And tonight I'm gonna drive until I get somewhere
Don't matter where I'm going and I don't care
Disappear into the night
Gonna save my soul tonight
Shotgun down 80 West
Feel my heart pounding out of my chest
And though I've never been
This is how I imagine it feels to be blessed
And tonight I'm gonna drive until I get somewhere
Don't matter where I'm going and I don't care
Disappear into the night
Gonna save my soul tonight
