This might as well be the Argonauts theme song. Writing and playing music with this band brought me a lot fulfillment, but in the end I still felt that no one really cared about me, and no one would care about my music either. I wondered what I could possibly do to make anyone care, and felt that I would never be able to reach my green light across the bay.
It seems rather fitting to me, that I believe this song was the last thing we did as the Argonauts before the band broke up.
lyrics
Please just let me be
I just want to lie here for a while
I don't want the dawn to come too soon
Cause I can hear that rain
It's pounding down
On this old house
And it's driving me insane
I can't take it anymore
And when tomorrow comes I'll move
Like a mad man into the storm
All my fears from all these years
Washed away in the sweet, sweet rain
So hey hey hey hey hey my savior
Where've you been, I've been here waiting
But now I've found that all I need
A major chord lift and a sweet melody
Flow like blood in my veins
And straight to my brain
Set me free
Free from the pain
So hey hey hey hey I've been waiting
But now I've found something better
Better for me
Now I'll navigate these seas
With black sails raised high
I'll wander this world alone
With tired bloodshot eyes
Let my hair grow all
Greasy and long
A beard that's stained with alcohol
Write some stupid songs
For everyone to sing along
Isn't that
What you look for in a saint?
So hey hey hey hey hey my savior
Where've you been, I've been here waiting
But now I've found that all I need
A major chord lift and a sweet melody
Flow like blood in my veins
And straight to my brain
Set me free
Free from the pain
So hey hey hey hey I've been waiting
But now I've found something better
Better for me
So hey hey hey hey my tormentor
Please give me a break
There is nothing now but anger
And pity left in my wake
Flow like heroin through my veins
Just to hide the pain
So hey hey hey hey
I've been waiting
But now I've found
Now I've found
Now I've found
That it was all in vain
